Hahaha. Very astute observation.
I remember someone once pointing out that the job of the Legislative Branch is to make laws, but that they’ve been doing just that for some 234 years – just how many laws do they think we need?
Not that I don’t want a fix to the health insurance nightmare, and I’m guessing my solutions might be different from yours. But I think we can agree that it might be best if the fix isn’t as complicated as the problem it’s meant to fix.
It’s not the fix that is complicated – well, it may be, I don’t know, not being American.
What I DO know is that politicians and lawmakers the world over like to bury the issue.
If they can do it with words, and leave everyone who needs to vote on a decision yawning by Page 2, then get a good orator to stand up and say what the most powerful lobbyists want, then they will.
It’s the most effective way of keeping the powers behind the throne happy.
